The Ohnsorg Theatre belongs to Hamburg like fish sandwiches to the harbour and the harbour to this city. For one hundred and twenty years, the Ohnsorg has stood for Low German theatre and has been constantly reinventing itself ever since. The Ohnsorg Theatre is one of the most popular Low German folk theatres in Germany.
The repertoire of the 120-year-old private theatre includes comedies, comedies, plays and literary works, which are regularly shown on television on NDR. The theatre is directed by Michael Lang. In addition to the main theatre, the Ohnsorg Theatre is also home to a second venue: the Ohnsorg Studio under the artistic direction of Cornelia Ehlers and Julia Bardosch, who is responsible for theatre education. A particular focus here is on work for children and young people. In addition to the main theatre, the Ohnsorg Theatre also performs at numerous guest venues in northern Germany and throughout Germany.
