The Berlin Museum of Medical History is located on the beautiful historic campus of the Charité in Mitte. Built in the 19th century as a pathological museum, it still displays a comprehensive collection of specimens today. In the spirit of Rudolf Virchow, the museum takes its guests on a »journey under the skin.« The permanent exhibition and changing special exhibitions feature instruments and exciting objects from three centuries of medical history, always with a focus on the rich history of the Charité. However, dark chapters like medicine in National Socialist times are also addressed. Patients and doctors tell their stories in a historic ward. The BMM is dedicated to the development of modern medicine, thus always tracing life.
