Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg
The Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg was founded in 1951 by Friedrich Schütter and Wolfgang Borchert as ‘Das Junge Theater’. Its first venue was the historic bridge in Grosse Bleichen, from there it moved to Neue Rabenstraße in 1952, to Marschnerstraße in 1956 and finally to Mundsburg in 1964. At the traditional location of the UFA-Palast, an efficient stage quickly developed, today the largest private theater in Germany.
